pH Mapping - monitoring soil acidity for production and profit (Dairy)

Kiewa 26th August

Come along to a pH Mapping – monitoring soil acidity for production and profit field day at the Kiewa Bowls Club on Tuesday 26th of August to hear about a new approach to monitoring soil pH across your property being showcased by Andrew Whitlock from Precision Agriculture Australia and discussions lead by Sue Briggs from Vic DEPI.

This day will involve:

·         demonstration of the new mobile mapping technology

·         discussion on pros and cons and suitability of the tool for use on your farm

·         comparing current lime programs for Stuart Crosthwaites local dairy property with potential alternative programs developed from the new map

·         investigating impacts of soil acidity on productivity and variations in lime quality and how that might affect your liming program

Cost of the day is FREE and lunch will be provided!
