Student Environment Day in Wodonga

Around 180 grade 5 students from the Wodonga area will attend the North East School Environment Day at the CUBE in Wodonga on Thursday 6th of August from 10am-2pm.

The event is being coordinated by the North East School Environment Education Directory (SEED) as the second of its annual program of three regional workshops for 2015 and is being run in conjunction with the City of Wodonga. SEED is a uniquely North East Victorian initiative, run through a partnership with the North East Catchment Management Authority and North Eats Waste and Resource Recovery Group.


More Lambs More Often

The one-day workshop, developed and funded in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture’s Carbon Farming Futures – Extension and Outreach program, will be delivered by trained industry experts in sheep husbandry and management, with local knowledge on seasonal conditions. Group size is limited to eight participants per deliverer, with a focus on exploring individual business scenarios and delivering value through knowledge transfer and engagement in a tailored setting.


Life of a Meat Eater: Birds of Prey of Lake Hume

Bethanga Landcare Group is holding an event about the Birds of Prey of Lake Hume at Lake Hume.  Dr. Victor Hurley, who is an expert on raptors is travelling over from Mildura to give the talk.  Lake Hume is home to a variety of birds of prey so come along to this event and learn about these special birds, their lives and habitats from one of Australia's leading experts. Everyone welcome.


Preparing for Spring

This workshop will help dairy and beef farmers get everything right to capitalise on this coming spring flush. The event will be held at 4 different locations including:

Corryong, Kiewa Valley, Milawa and Eskdale.
