Wise Water Ways Workshop 2016 (Beechworth)

Now in its 17th year, Wise Water Ways is a unique practical workshop focussing on the management of Australian streams and riparian areas. Held annually in North East Victoria, over 800 individuals from across Australia have completed the 5 day course which provides government staff, consultants, university students, and others with the opportunity to learn, discuss and debate with a wide range of Australian's top waterways researchers and managers.

Topics include the theory, practice and on-ground techniques of stream rehabilitation, stream assessment, stream ecology, catchment hydrology and geomorphology, stream channel management, water quality, environmental flows, fish habitat requirements, macroinvertebrate identification, riparian vegetation management and community engagement.

Our Keynote speaker this year is Mr David Papps, the Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder, who will discuss how environmental water is utilised to get the best outcomes for riverine environments.

WHEN:     24 to 28 October 2016
WHERE:   Beechworth, North East Victoria
