Autumn Planning - making the most of your options

The day will start with a farm walk looking at crop and pasture on Ferguson’s property, Limestone Road Benambra with Manager David Pooley. Presentations and discussions will follow lunch on selecting suitable species, preparation for sowing, crop and pasture management.
A session on livestock nutritional requirements and feed budgeting, will also be presented.
The day will finish with the opportunity to look at further crop and pasture examples at Hinnomunjie Station.

Producers will be given clear information around:
• what options are available for either grazing or fodder conservation
• how and when to establish
• when to graze.

Current information around drought support and assistance will also be made available on the day

Presenters: Nick Linden – Agriculture Victoria - livestock requirements and feed budgeting
Janice Dowe – Agriculture Victoria, cereal crop options, fodder conservation, preparation for and management
Nicole Frost – Pasture Genetics, forage brassicas and pasture options and pasture management.
Where:Meet at Ferguson’s Cattle Yards,
Limestone Road, Benambra. (Will be signposted).
Presentations and lunch at Benambra Recreation Reserve.

Catering: Lunch will be provided at the Benambra Recreation Reserve. Please advise of any dietary requirements.
