Flood Recovery Expo featuring 'Are You Bogged Mate?'

The Flood Recovery Expo will be a relaxed evening where industry partners and the agriculture community can come together to share information and support following what has been a difficult few months with floods.

The evening will be highlighted by guest speaker, Mary O'Brien from Are You Bogged Mate? Mary was raised on a sheep and cattle station in South West Queensland. She is a passionate advocate for all sectors of agriculture and has a deep understanding of the diverse challenges faced by rural communities.

Farming Carbon 2023

Exploring Soils, Trees, Productivity, Contracts and Farm Accounting

The Farming Carbon conference aims to support land managers, agriculture industry groups, Landcare participants, and industry staff in north east Victoria in building their knowledge and understanding of carbon farming systems. 

Speakers invited include Julia Waite, MLA; Professor Richard Eckard, Melbourne University; Jane Carney, Farmers for Climate Action; Sam Henty, Agriculture Victoria; Jim Shovelton, Board of Gecko CLaN; Alison Kelly, Agriculture Victoria; Dr Cassandra Schefe, AgriSci; and Sue Briggs, CSBP Soil and Plant Analysis Laboratory. Further speakers are expected to be secured for the event.

Two days of conversation on economic trends and significant issues for the agriculture sector

Victorian Landcare Forum

Thursday 23 March to Saturday 25 March 2023

The North-East Region landcare community is hosting the Victorian Landcare Forum in Beechworth from Thursday, 23 (evening) to Saturday, 25 March 2023.

The Forum will provide a fantastic opportunity to share knowledge and experience from around the State, to meet others directly involved in landcare and to see first-hand the achievements of landcare in the North-East.

An exciting program is currently being finalised, and registrations will open soon - but for now, please pop this date in your diary and keep an eye out for your invitation!

Online look at climate change across Victoria

Two online presentations will address current and possible future climatic conditions that are likely in 2050 across Victoria this week.

Climate experts from the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) will provide overviews from the state-wide Climate Science Report 2019 as well as climate projections for each region including North East Victoria.
