Position vacant - Environmental Water and Wetland Officer

North East Catchment Management Authority (NECMA) is seeking an Environmental Water and Wetland Officer, who will work within the Environmental Water Program to deliver environmental water and wetland projects.

 


North East Soil Health Community Grants applications extended until 8 August

Community groups in North East Victoria with ideas to increase awareness and adoption of land management practices that improve and protect the region’s soil now have until 8 August to apply for five grants of up to $7,500 each to deliver their programs


Local fishers, OzFish support recovery of Cudgewa Creek

Local fishers have been central to the recovery of the habitat and fish stocks in the Cudgewa Creek, near Tintaldra in the Upper Murray, following the devastating 2019-20 summer bushfires.


Jaithmathang senior elders reconnect with their ancestral MPP and original country

Jaithmathang Senior Elder, Loreman and Songman, Goengalla Jumma Myermyal Minjeke looks out over Yerto (meaning land/country high up) while standing on Mt Loch and reflects on a separation from Jaithmathang Original Country that has lasted generations. Mt Loch is within Shared Yerto of the GunaiKurnai and Jaithmathang Original Peoples’ Country.


Bushfire Recovery partnership supports landholders

Almost 18 months after the devastating Black Summer bushfires, north east Victoria is displaying true resilience as the local flora and fauna steadily return.
