The Catchment Coordination Team at the North East CMA, undertake a range of engagement, support and coordination tasks across the community.

In an effort to keep Landcare/NRM Groups and Networks, our government partners and other
stakeholders up to date with staff contacts and roles at the North East CMA, the following information sheet has been developed outlining the roles and contact details of the Catchment
Coordinators.

Manager Catchment Program Coordination

  • Manager of Catchment Coordination and Engagement Team.
  • Support of partnership forums, including Landcare Network Executives, North East NRM
  • Partners Forum, North East Firewood Roundtable, Murray Tri-State Alliance, Wangaratta
    Roundtable, Engagement and Partnering Sub-Committee of the Board.
  • Management of community consultation approaches and programs.
  • Responsible for delivery of Community Engagement and Partnerships Strategy for the
    organisation including NRM Awareness activities.
  • Oversees the development of region wide funding submissions such as Green Army, One
    Million Trees, etc.

Catchment Coordinators

There are three Catchment Coordinator positions at the CMA. Each of these people act as the key contact for a sub-catchment areas. These positions also have a range of other catchment wide responsibilities, as outlined below.

Catchment Coordinator (Landcare) (Upper Murray/Upper Mitta)

Catchment Coordination role (Upper Murray/Upper Mitta):

  • Key contact for Upper Murray, Mitta and Omeo and Benambra community into the CMA.
  • Assist the community and partners to access support or advice around key NRM issues
  • Communicate CMA programs/opportunities and support the development of funding submissions.
  • Support collaborative project delivery across the sub-catchment e.g. Green Army.

Landcare role (Whole catchment):

  • Oversee and deliver Victorian Landcare Grants & Riparian Landcare Grants.
  • Provide trouble shooting support and advice to landcare/NRM groups across the catchment.
  • Provide training and support to landcare/NRM groups and local landcare facilitators.
  • Work with DELWP and other CMA’s to deliver landcare support tasks at a State level.

Catchment Coordinator (Water) (Ovens & King)

Catchment Coordination role (Ovens & King):

  • Key contact for Ovens and King catchment communities into the CMA.
  • Assist Ovens and King community and partners to access support or advice around key NRM issues.
  • Communicate CMA programs/opportunities and support the development of funding submissions.
  • Support collaborative project delivery across the sub-catchment e.g. Green Army.

Water role (Whole catchment):

  • Input into the development of regional water program and support and advice around water policy issues.
  • Manage the North East Waterwatch Program, including supporting Waterwatch volunteers.
  • Work as a community engagement conduit between the North East community and the Murray Darling Basin Authority.

Catchment Coordinator (Regional Landcare Facilitator – Agriculture) (Kiewa/Wodonga/Rutherglen)

Catchment Coordination role (Kiewa):

  • Key contact for Kiewa catchment communities into the CMA.
  • Assist Kiewa community and partners to access support or advice around key NRM issues.
  • Communicate CMA programs/opportunities and support the development of funding submissions.
  • Support collaborative project delivery across the sub-catchment e.g. Green Army.

Regional Landcare Facilitator - Agriculture role (Whole catchment):

  • Input into the development of regional land and agricultural programs and support and advice around agricultural and land management policy issues.
  • Support the delivery of the Sustainable Agriculture programs through the NLP funded Sustainable Agriculture and Regional Landcare Facilitator programs in North East Victoria. These projects are also supported by other CMA staff including Kelly Behrens and Amber Croft.
  • Work with agriculture industry and other stakeholders to facilitate agriculture programs and projects.
