What does the Position involve?
Statutory Planning Officers at the North East CMA work closely with community, local governments, and other organisations to ensure works on waterways or development in proximity to waterways and on floodplains is consistent with the Water Act 1989 and the Victorian Floodplain Management Strategy. They must also consider minimising risks to the environment and human safety when addressing applications.
The positions also support the North East CMA’s role in flood response and recovery, including the review of internal and external preparedness policies and procedures, developing flood data and flood intelligence and provision of flood advice to the VICSES in the event of a flood emergency.
