Are you curious about how to start identifying plants and animals using technology, or eager to dive into making environmental contributions from your smartphone? If so, delve into the exciting world of citizen science with us!
Join Claire Birch and Meredith Mitchell from Corowa District Landcare at the Corowa Library to learn about citizen science in a relaxed and friendly environment.
As well as an overview of citizen science, this session will cover:
- Navigating online platforms and apps: learn how to access and use the tools that are available to citizen scientists.
- Exploring environmental projects: discover a variety of citizen science initiatives and opportunities.
- Real life practice! Step outside with us at Ball Park to test and use citizen science apps alongside the Murray River.
Upon registering for Citizen Science Essentials, we’ll send you a few apps that you may wish to download at home prior to the session. Some of our favourites include FrogID and iNaturalist.
What to bring to the session: Please bring your smartphone (recommended), tablet or laptop to the session if available. This event will include a gentle walk outdoors on flat paths. Please wear sturdy footwear and dress for weather conditions.
