Dr Susan White OAM is a karst geomorphologist who has worked for 50 years as a geomorphologist with a particular emphasis on how caves and karst landscapes form in relatively recent (ie less than 65 million years) limestones. She is currently based at La Trobe University in the Environmental Geoscience Group.
A long term member of the Geological Society of Australia (Victoria Division) (GSAV) and since 1993 a member of GSAV's Geological Heritage Subcommittee and currently the deputy chair of the GSAV committee.
She has been involved in documenting sites, managing the data base of over 2000 sites and is passionate about the geological heritage of Australia and Victoria in particular. She was awarded an OAM in 2015 for services to science, especially speleology, in the area of researching Karst Landscapes (caves).
