Ovens Landcare Network is excited to bring you a workshop delivered by internationally acclaimed author and expert on horse property management, Stuart Myers.
Ever worry about how much money you are spending on hay? Concerned about having to lock up your horses for significant parts of the year? Does Spring cause anxiety because your horse is prone to laminitis?
This workshop is designed for all horse owners, whether you own land, lease land, or keep your horse/s on agistment.
You can improve the health of your pastures and, ultimately, the health of your horse/s by learning:
- How to best manage horse pastures by enhancing soil health, encouraging suitable grass species, minimising weeds and parasites, plus reducing erosion, runoff into waterways and encouraging biodiversity.
- About the relationship between pastures and horse health (laminitis, EMS, worms).
- How to best design paddocks and/or feeding areas that utilise natural horse behaviours.
Often a slight change in the way that you do things can lead to big savings in both time and money, benefitting both small and large properties and the natural environment.
