Green Army Team to plant around the Pondage in Mt Beauty

During May the Green Army team will plant some 800 native and deciduous trees planted on the southern foreshore of the Mt Beauty Regulating Pondage and along the western banks of the West Kiewa Power Station’s tailrace channel.

 The Upper Kiewa River Restoration Project is supported by the Australian Government’s Green Army Programme. The North East Catchment Management Authority is the host agency with Conservation Volunteers Australia delivering the on-ground component of the project with a number of local partners. Entries for the 2015 Victorian Landcare Awards are now open. If you know an individual or organisation involved in protecting or improving our local environment, farm, bushland, wetland, waterway, school, region, catchment or backyard, there is a category in this year’s awards to suit.


Water Ambassador Award 2015

To mark this years World Water Day, North East Water and the North East Catchment Management Authority have announced the 2015 North East Victoria Water Ambassador Award.


No Shooting Signage

The Kiewa Catchment Landcare Group is planning to arrange a bulk purchase of No Shooting signs for landholders concerned about unauthorised shooting on their property.


Fox Bounty Resumes

 The Victorian fox bounty will resume in March with collection centres opening across the state. Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources (DEDJTR) has announced that the fox bounty will continue as per normal this year.
