Study examines growing climate adaptation response among North East farmers

King River fishway underway at Docker

The North East Catchment Management Authority (CMA) has recently commenced a fish-friendly upgrade of the stream gauge control structure on Taungurung Country over the King River at Docker.

The existing sheet-pile control structure will be replaced with a rock structure that will gauge stream flow accurately, provide fish passage, minimise erosion, all whilst having minimal maintenance requirements.

Improving Livingstone Creek habitat builds resilience for endangered Maccas

Work is underway on a project to restore habitat for the endangered Macquarie Perch along Livingstone Creek, Omeo with the installation of timber into the waterway, fencing to exclude stock and revegetation of the riparian area to provide shade and shelter for the species.
