Expressions of Interest: Sustainable Irrigation Grants (2025–27)

The North East Catchment Management Authority (CMA) is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from irrigation industry groups and community organisations across the North East CMA region.

These grants aim to support irrigated Industries and irrigation communities in adapting to variable water availability and climate change, enhancing both resilience and productivity. 

Grant Details 

• Funding Available: Between $20,000 and $35,000 (ex GST) 

• Program: North East Sustainable Irrigation program 

• Purpose: To support climate adaptation planning and implementation for irrigated agriculture 

• Eligible Activities: 

• On-ground works 

• Research and innovation 

• Capacity-building initiatives 

• Development of climate adaptation plans 

• Implementation of priority actions 

• Case studies and engagement events to share learnings regionally and statewide 

Assessment & Priorities 

• Applications will be competitively assessed 

• Priority given to industry groups implementing actions from existing climate adaptation plans or the development of new climate adaptation plans.  

• All funded projects must be completed by 31 May 2027 

Application Process 

1. Submit your EOI by completing the attached form by 5pm, Friday 19 September 2025 

2. Project officers may contact applicants for further details 

3. EOIs will be assessed by North East CMA in collaboration with DEECA, Agriculture Victoria, and Goulburn-Murray Water 

4. Applicants will be notified of outcomes in October 2025 

If the program is undersubscribed, EOIs may remain open with further assessments in 2026.
