These information sessions set the foundation for family farm succession and equip farming families with the tools to optimise their chances for business continuity. Participants will explore important topics such as why family and business communication is difficult and how to improve it, what makes a meeting work, and how to take account of differing family goals.

This is an introductory interactive face-to-face information session. This complimentary information session is a collaboration between Rabobank, the Rabo Client Councils and content and facilitator partners, Rosemary Bartle and Jim Benson.

Are you curious about how to start identifying plants and animals using technology, or eager to dive into making environmental contributions from your smartphone? If so, delve into the exciting world of citizen science with us!

Join Claire Birch and Meredith Mitchell from Corowa District Landcare at the Corowa Library to learn about citizen science in a relaxed and friendly environment. 

As well as an overview of citizen science, this session will cover:

  • Navigating online platforms and apps: learn how to access and use the tools that are available to citizen scientists.
  • Exploring environmental projects: discover a variety of citizen science initiatives and opportunities.
  • Real life practice! Step outside with us at Ball Park to test and use citizen science apps alongside the Murray River.

Upon registering for Citizen Science Essentials, we’ll send you a few apps that you may wish to download at home prior to the session. Some of our favourites include FrogID and iNaturalist.

What to bring to the session: Please bring your smartphone (recommended), tablet or laptop to the session if available. This event will include a gentle walk outdoors on flat paths. Please wear sturdy footwear and dress for weather conditions.

Community Feral Pig Control Program information session

DEECA's Statewide Invasive Species Program, in partnership with Kiewa Catchment Landcare Groups, Wooragee Landcare and Indigo Valley Landcare is starting a new community feral pig program in the Baranduda, Wooragee and Indigo Valley areas.

Its goals are to provide community support through:

  • Adopting a collaborative approach to feral pig management;
  • Increasing community awareness and capability in best practice feral pig management;
  • Working closely with Agriculture Victoria to provide samples for disease monitoring;
  • Provision of training events on feral pig management and control, reporting tools and sampling;
  • Provision of traps for landholder use;
  • Coordination with any public land works in the area
