EOIs open for Kiewa River Waterway Incentives

Landowners and community groups are being urged to apply for funding through the North East Catchment Management Authority’s Lower Kiewa Catchment Stewardship Project to improve environmental outcomes.

The three-year project aims to Improve stock management along waterways, increase native riparian vegetation, and reduce the impacts of pest plants.

The successful projects will also help to better coordinate planning and works, strengthen community networks, and work in partnership with Traditional Owners to improve waterway health.

This program will target sites in the Lower Kiewa Catchment Area downstream of Gundowring. All applications for funding will be assessed on a competitive basis. All works must be completed by 1 November 2023.

The Expressions of Interest period will run from 15 August to 30 September 2022.

The Kiewa River Waterway Incentives are funded by the Victorian Government’s $223.8 million Water for Victoria investment.

The Victorian Government has invested $21.75 million from 2021-24 in the Our Catchments, Our Communities program, which is our commitment to managing our catchments to benefit the environment, community and the economy.
