Timber and Fibre Innovation Fund applications open

The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) has announced the opening of the Timber and Fibre Innovation Fund (TFIF).

The Fund will support forestry, plantation, agroforestry, and plant fibre industry businesses, as well as businesses that rely heavily on timber or plant fibre. The aim is to strengthen Victoria’s timber and plant fibre industries for a sustainable future.

The Fund supports Victoria’s economic growth through the development and expansion of a sustainable timber and fibre industry, including the production of low carbon materials, emissions reduction, and stronger regional economies.

Program objectives include:

  • advancing emerging technologies and new market opportunities
  • improving manufacturing and processing capabilities
  • expanding opportunities for alternative plant fibres

Grants between $50,000 and $1 million are available to successful applicants with a minimum 1:1 cash co-contribution required across all projects supported by the Fund.

Applications close 31 August 2026 at 5pm.
