Position vacant: Senior Project Officer Waterways and Recovery

Do you value making a meaningful environmental contribution to communities across a broad landscape? Do you enjoy leading and working as part of a committed and passionate team in natural resource management?

This position will plan and manage waterway projects delivered by North East CMA in partnership with key stakeholders including Landcare and other not for profit groups, Traditional Owners / First Nations Peoples, land managers, consultants, contractors Australian and State government departments, in particular Goulburn-Murray Water, North East Water, Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) and Local Government.

Tasks include taking accountability for overall project management, planning, budgeting, governance, stakeholder engagement, communication, and reporting requirements along with coordination and oversight of on-ground works such as willow and weed control, revegetation, erosion, and instream habitat works and other recovery actions across the North East Catchment.

Position Vacant: Citizen Science Support Officer (River Detectives)

This position is to support the delivery of funded citizen science programs in the North East CMA such as River Detectives and Water Watch.

This is a Band 6 ($66,242.91 - $71,525.09 pro rata + superannuation) part time (up to 0.2 FTE), fixed term position to 31 December 2024, location is negotiable between our Wodonga, Tallangatta and Wangaratta offices and remotely as required.

These positions are critical to addressing historical, current, and emerging issues across the catchment and to deliver positive environmental outcomes with communities, Traditional Owners/First Nations people, government agencies, not-for-profits, and other stakeholders.
