Australian agriculture food and agribusiness is undergoing a revolution driven by changing consumer demands, emerging Asian markets, application of digital technology and the disruption caused by evolution in the climate and production environments.
Food markets are being rapidly revamped by a revolution in consumer demand for a diversity choice, changing eating experience and pattern, cultural factors and shift in global markets as plant-based protein is increasingly desired for perceived health wellbeing and minimising greenhouse gas from livestock production. The CSIRO Food and Agribusiness Roadmap supports Australian food and agribusiness transition to a collaborative, growth orientated, high value-adding and differentiated sector through identifying growth opportunities for Australian food and agribusiness.
