Launch of Reptiles & Frogs of North East Victoria field guide

Join Trust for Nature and DELWP for the official launch of the region’s latest field guide ‘Reptiles & Frogs of North East Victoria’.

Hear from two of Australia’s leading reptile and frog experts, Damian Michael from the Australian National University and Nick Clemann from DELWP’s Arthur Rylah Institute.

Visit a local private property featuring granite outcrops where we’ll search for reptiles and frogs under the supervision of Damian and Nick. This will be an informative, hands on morning and kids are welcome. Can we find a burrowing Three-toed Skink, the unusual Burton’s Snake-lizard, or perhaps even the elusive Bandy Bandy?

The property is located 10 minutes south west of Chiltern. The morning will involve a 2 km walk through bushland - moderate fitness is required. Suitable clothing for the nature of the activity is advised including long sleeved shirt, pants, hat, close toed walking boots and a rain jacket if necessary. Gardening gloves, a water bottle and camera are also recommended. Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
