North East CMA hosted a successful Women in Agriculture forum at Milawa on Thursday with 60 women taking the opportunity to renew friendships, make new friends, learn practical strategies for everyday life and recharge.
There was plenty of sharing of stories and ideas as the women involved got to step away from the busyness of day‑to‑day farming and take a strategic look at farm performance and personal resilience.
Facilitator Cynthia Mahoney urged participants to reflect on the turbulence and disruption in their lives, consider the techniques that work to counter those disruptions, making room for what matters and the gift of permission.
After lunch, participants chose from three recharge sessions - restorative yoga, nature journalling and resilient garden design.
This event was supported by the Australian Government through funding from the Natural Heritage Trust under the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program; and by a Look Over the Farm Gate grant provided by Agriculture Victoria under the Victorian Government's Drought Support Package.
Look out for more stories and photographs from this event on the North East CMA website and thanks to all who participated and attended.
