Regional partners collaborate on land health in North East Victoria

North East CMA was proud to join last week's meeting of the Natural Resource Management (NRM) Partners Forum with a focus on land health across the region.

Following the meeting at Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action’s Ovens office, the group visited #HopsProductsAustralia in Ovens. As the largest hop grower in Australia, HPA has a strong focus on sustainability and showcased innovative practices and projects aimed at improving sustainability and reducing production risks.

The forum meets quarterly and brings together regional leaders from local government, Agriculture Victoria, Parks Victoria, Landcare Victoria, Murray-Darling Basin Authority, North East Water, Trust for Nature, North East CMA and other natural resource management organisations. It’s an important opportunity to share ideas, discuss current projects, monitor emerging environmental issues and collaborate on practical solutions.

These initiatives include advancements in soil health, irrigation timing, fertiliser placement and harvesting techniques—demonstrating how they are working to minimise their environmental footprint while simultaneously meeting the demands of their brewing customers.
