Bush, Birds and Boxes

Hansonville Reserve Sunday July 27th 1pm-5pm

Bush, birds and boxes is a Greta Valley Landcare project that aims to raise awareness of actions landholders can take to improve habitat for a range of species in the Greta valley.

Working in several public land reserves in the district the group will hold a series of activities such as nest box building and installation , nest box monitoring, weed management and re-vegetation options.  In particular the project hopes to improve habitat for the Bush Stone Curlew and Grey crowned babblers.

Come along to the Hansonville Reserve on Sunday 27 where the Group will focus on nest box installation and the monitoring and control of Indian Mynas –. These introduced birds benefit from an open agricultural landscape and have the potential to severely impact on our native birds and tree hollow dependant mammals.

Participants on the day will learn how to monitor for and catch and remove Indian Mynas.

Hot drinks and afternoon tea will be available.  The Hansonville Reserve is on Banksdale Rd, between School road and Graham's Lane.

See the Group website for contact details.
